Großhandelskunden bestellen ihn häufig als Süßstoff für Lebensmittel und Getränke. Bio-Rohrohrzucker wird in der Industrie oft gegenüber raffiniertem Zucker oder Tafelzucker bevorzugt, da er weniger verarbeitet wird.
