For example in the Blanched ones, the skin has been taken off during the blanching process, while the surface has been cleaned of dirt and organisms, stopping enzyme actions which can cause loss of flavour, colour and texture.
Hazelnuts are the hard-shelled fruit of the hazelnut tree, Corylus. They are typically harvested in autumn. Turkey, Italy, and the United States are the world's top three producers of hazelnuts.
